Dr. Kellie Haggett graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2015 after completing an undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario. As a new graduate, she had an exciting experience as a mixed-animal veterinarian in Northern Alberta, but has since moved home to Nova Scotia in 2018. After gaining some surgical experience working in shelter medicine, Kellie has found her way back into clinical practice and is excited to be working in her own neighbourhood, the North End of Halifax.  Kellie’s main interests are soft tissue surgery and dentistry.

When she is not at work, Kellie enjoys gardening, tending to her jungle of indoor plants, or reading. You may even see her walking around the North End with her partner and her senior Border Collie, Kippen.

Dr. Christina Bell was raised in Bedford, Nova Scotia. She completed her undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University, and graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College. Dr. Bell is Fear Free Certified, and her veterinary interests include dermatology, preventative medicine, and senior wellness.

In her free time, Dr. Bell enjoys movies and music, spending quality time with her family and friends, snuggling her kitty Mimmers, and going on hikes with her Aussie, Iris. Dr. Bell loves serving families and their pets within the North End community!

Dr. Mica Das Gupta grew up in Halifax and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University, and then a Master of Science from McGill University before moving to Scotland to study veterinary medicine at the University of Edinburgh. She graduated in 2018 and she and her husband moved back to Halifax along with their cat, Gramps, a little stowaway from Scotland.

Dr. Mica is looking forward to living and practicing in the North End community. She and her husband are enjoying living back on the east coast close to family, and lots of places to go hiking, canoeing and biking!

Dr. Roshan McGuinness grew up in Halifax.  After waiting to be a veterinarian from a young age, he graduated from Dalhousie University with a major in biology before graduating from the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI.

Dr. McGuinness has a special interest in preventive medicine and soft tissue surgery and is excited to continue working in the Halifax area!

When not working, Dr. McGuinness can be found trying out new restaurants, walking his dog Eevee, or checking out a music festival.

Dr. Johnsen grew up in Newmarket, Ontario and moved out to Halifax for her undergraduate degree in biology at Dalhousie University. She loves the east coast lifestyle and has been here ever since! She graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2024. 

As a vet, Dr. Johnsen’s special interests include soft tissue surgery and dermatology amongst others! Outside of clinic life you can find her spending time outside with her husband and German Shephard mix – Harvey. She loves camping, canoeing and downhill skiing. She also enjoys spending time with friends going out for food, playing cards/board games, or making silly crafts!

Blair lives in Halifax with her fiancé, 2 cats, Minkus and Nibbler, and 3 guinea pigs, Mohawk, Mojo and Motley.

Blair graduated from the veterinary technology program at Maritime Business College in 2019. She has a special interest in canine and feline behaviour. Blair is always working to make all patient’s visit as fear free as possible.

Outside of work, Blair likes to spend time with family and friends, kayaking, biking and going to the movies.

Alyssa has always wanted to work with animals. She graduated from Eastern College in November 2010, after completing the Veterinary Administrative Assistant Program and has worked as a Veterinary Assistant in the HRM for over 10 years.

Some of her favourite aspects of the job are nutrition, learning, and educating pet parents on feline and canine veterinary diets. She also has a special interest in behaviour and training in puppies and dogs.

Her fur family consists of a Husky x named Tucker, and a chubby tabby cat named Tally. When she is not at work, you will can find Alyssa horseback riding, exploring beaches, or hiking with Tucker.

Amyleigh chose to pursue a career in veterinary medicine as she has a great amount of compassion for animals and wanted to be able to share that compassion. She knew that she would feel most fulfilled in a career in which she was able to advocate for, and provide care for, our amazing furry (and some not furry) family members. She graduated from a Veterinary Technology program in 2018 and has worked in both small animal and mixed animal practices.

Jody is native to the beautiful island of Saint Lucia in the Caribbean. She has always loved animals, having many pets growing up. After studying Agricultural Science, she continued her studies at the Animal Behaviour College to follow her passion.

Jody resides in Halifax with her husband, two sons and a pomchi named Tsubaki.

Emily is from a small town in New Brunswick called Quispamsis, but moved to Halifax to pursue a BSc at Dalhousie University. She is currently majoring in Biology, with plans to graduate this coming spring. Emily has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a child, and she hopes to attend Atlantic Veterinary College in the future to achieve that goal. Emily has previously worked at a hospital in NB, and is excited to be part of the North End Animal Hospital team for another opportunity to gain clinical experience.

In her spare time, she loves going for walks in Point Pleasant Park, listening to music (any genre!), and hanging out with her 3 cats, Eddie, Ellie, and Jimi.

Brienna grew up around animals her whole life and they hold a very special place in her heart. She has many furry friends, including her four cats, who she considers her children. Brienna is currently studying Biology at SMU and she plans on pursuing veterinarian medicine as a career.

Allison has always felt the most at ease in the company of animals, and she has always aspired to provide what is best for them. She has been working as a Veterinary Technician in her hometown of Montreal, QC since 2016 after graduating from Animal Health Technology at Vanier College. Allison has a passion for the ocean and the environment and so, she moved to Nova Scotia to return to school to study marine biology with the dream of eventually working towards coral reef recovery.

In her spare time, Allison loves to snuggle up with her cat, Finnegan, listen to music, and enjoy nature.

Sam graduated from the Veterinary Technology program in Truro in 2016. After growing up in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, she decided to move back home to begin her lifelong passion for animals. After working there for almost 6 years, she decided to move to Halifax to live with her partner for a new start. She’s been at NEAH ever since!

You can usually find her enjoying doing blood draws or giving as many snuggles and treats as she can to your pets. She has a soft spot for beagles and dachshunds, but of course loves every animal that comes through the doors. Sam currently has a beagle named Georgie and a cat named Mr. Mistoffelees aka Misto, who she spoils way too much.

In her spare time, Sam enjoys reading, video games, snuggling with her pets, and hanging out with her friends.

Growing up always surrounded by animals lead Danieka down the path of wanting to pursue a career in Veterinary medicine. She graduated from Eastern College’s Veterinary Administrative Assistant program in July 2021, and wishes to continue her education in the future.

Danieka lives in Halifax with her partner and their toy poodle Theodore.  In her free time Danieka enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies, and going on adventures with her pup.

Rylee has always been a lover of nature and wildlife.  After exploring multiple career paths, she finally took a step in the right direction.  She completed the Veterinary Assistant program at Maritime Business College and is also Fear-Free Certified. Rylee is extremely excited to start her journey in the world of veterinary medicine and work with like-minded people who share the same love and compassion for animals as she does.

Rylee has 2 cats of her own (her boys) who she loves and adores.
