Dr. Kellie Haggett graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2015 after completing an undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario. As a new graduate, she had an exciting experience as a mixed-animal veterinarian in Northern Alberta, but has since moved home to Nova Scotia in 2018. After gaining some surgical experience working in shelter medicine, Kellie has found her way back into clinical practice and is excited to be working in her own neighbourhood, the North End of Halifax.  Kellie’s main interests are soft tissue surgery and dentistry.

When she is not at work, Kellie enjoys gardening, tending to her jungle of indoor plants, or reading. You may even see her walking around the North End with her partner and her senior Border Collie, Kippen.

Dr. O’Hanley grew up in Moncton, New Brunswick and graduated from Mt. Allison University before attending the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI. Following veterinary school, she completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery in Calgary; however, she decided she was better suited for small animal practice. Since then, she has focused mostly on emergency medicine practicing in both the Maritimes and New York City. She and her husband have recently moved home to Halifax and she has found her place with us!

Dr. O’Hanley’s special interests include emergency surgery, pain management, and behaviour. During her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, surfing and someday soon hopes to get back to her horsey roots!

Dr. Christina Bell was raised in Bedford, Nova Scotia. She completed her undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University, and graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College. Dr. Bell is Fear Free Certified, and her veterinary interests include dermatology, preventative medicine, and senior wellness.

In her free time, Dr. Bell enjoys movies and music, spending quality time with her family and friends, snuggling her kitty Mimmers, and going on hikes with her Aussie, Iris. Dr. Bell loves serving families and their pets within the North End community!

Dr. Mica Das Gupta grew up in Halifax and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University, and then a Master of Science from McGill University before moving to Scotland to study veterinary medicine at the University of Edinburgh. She graduated in 2018 and she and her husband moved back to Halifax along with their cat, Gramps, a little stowaway from Scotland.

Dr. Mica is looking forward to living and practicing in the North End community. She and her husband are enjoying living back on the east coast close to family, and lots of places to go hiking, canoeing and biking!

Dr. Roshan McGuinness grew up in Halifax.  After waiting to be a veterinarian from a young age, he graduated from Dalhousie University with a major in biology before graduating from the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI.

Dr. McGuinness has a special interest in preventive medicine and soft tissue surgery and is excited to continue working in the Halifax area!

When not working, Dr. McGuinness can be found trying out new restaurants, walking his dog Eevee, or checking out a music festival.

Blair lives in Halifax with her fiancé, 2 cats, Minkus and Nibbler, and 3 guinea pigs, Mohawk, Mojo and Motley.

Blair graduated from the veterinary technology program at Maritime Business College in 2019. She has a special interest in canine and feline behaviour. Blair is always working to make all patient’s visit as fear free as possible.

Outside of work, Blair likes to spend time with family and friends, kayaking, biking and going to the movies.

Alyssa has always wanted to work with animals. She graduated from Eastern College in November 2010, after completing the Veterinary Administrative Assistant Program and has worked as a Veterinary Assistant in the HRM for over 10 years.

Some of her favourite aspects of the job are nutrition, learning, and educating pet parents on feline and canine veterinary diets. She also has a special interest in behaviour and training in puppies and dogs.

Her fur family consists of a Husky x named Tucker, and a chubby tabby cat named Tally. When she is not at work, you will can find Alyssa horseback riding, exploring beaches, or hiking with Tucker.

Amyleigh chose to pursue a career in veterinary medicine as she has a great amount of compassion for animals and wanted to be able to share that compassion. She knew that she would feel most fulfilled in a career in which she was able to advocate for, and provide care for, our amazing furry (and some not furry) family members. She graduated from a Veterinary Technology program in 2018 and has worked in both small animal and mixed animal practices.

Candice graduated in 2018 from the Veterinary Technology program and has worked in the industry since 2017. She has worked in various practices ranging from rehabilitation/herbal medicine, emergency, exotics, and general practice.  Candice is Fear Free Level 3 Certified and takes pride in working with nervous/anxious animals and turning their experience into something positive.

In her spare time, she enjoys taking her animals outside and going for walks, photography and going on adventures.

Jody is native to the beautiful island of Saint Lucia in the Caribbean. She has always loved animals, having many pets growing up. After studying Agricultural Science, she continued her studies at the Animal Behaviour College to follow her passion.

Jody resides in Halifax with her husband, two sons and a pomchi named Tsubaki.

Emily is from a small town in New Brunswick called Quispamsis, but moved to Halifax to pursue a BSc at Dalhousie University. She is currently majoring in Biology, with plans to graduate this coming spring. Emily has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a child, and she hopes to attend Atlantic Veterinary College in the future to achieve that goal. Emily has previously worked at a hospital in NB, and is excited to be part of the North End Animal Hospital team for another opportunity to gain clinical experience.

In her spare time, she loves going for walks in Point Pleasant Park, listening to music (any genre!), and hanging out with her 3 cats, Eddie, Ellie, and Jimi.

Brienna grew up around animals her whole life and they hold a very special place in her heart. She has many furry friends, including her four cats, who she considers her children. Brienna is currently studying Biology at SMU and she plans on pursuing veterinarian medicine as a career.

Allison has always felt the most at ease in the company of animals, and she has always aspired to provide what is best for them. She has been working as a Veterinary Technician in her hometown of Montreal, QC since 2016 after graduating from Animal Health Technology at Vanier College. Allison has a passion for the ocean and the environment and so, she moved to Nova Scotia to return to school to study marine biology with the dream of eventually working towards coral reef recovery.

In her spare time, Allison loves to snuggle up with her cat, Finnegan, listen to music, and enjoy nature.

Samantha graduated from the Veterinary Technology program in Truro in 2016. After growing up in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, she decided to move back home to begin her lifelong passion for animals. After working there for almost 6 years, she recently decided to move to Halifax to live with her boyfriend for a new start.

You can usually find her enjoying doing blood draws or giving as many snuggles and treats as she can to your pets. She has a soft spot for beagles and dachshunds, but of course loves every animal that comes though the doors. Sam currently doesn’t have any pets, as she had to say goodbye to her beloved beagle, Maggie, earlier this year.

In her spare time, Sam enjoys reading, video games, and hanging out with her friends.

Growing up always surrounded by animals lead Danieka down the path of wanting to pursue a career in Veterinary medicine. She graduated from Eastern College’s Veterinary Administrative Assistant program in July 2021, and wishes to continue her education in the future.

Danieka lives in Halifax with her partner and their toy poodle Theodore.  In her free time Danieka enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies, and going on adventures with her pup.

From a young age, Keosha has always found herself embracing the company of animals. She graduated from Maritime Business College in 2011, and then began working as a Veterinary Assistant in various clinics around HRM.

Her very active “little love” Bengal kitty mix, Harley a.k.a Harley Har, joined her biker family in 2022, and has kept everyone on their toes since! “One moment Harley loves you, and then the next moment you’re human prey to chase and play with.”

In Keosha’s spare time she enjoys working on her business Key Sense Selfcare, attending sporting events, walking barefoot in the grass with a good book, and spending time laughing with family and friends.

Jolie has been obsessed with all types of animals for as long as she can remember. She grew up riding horses and walking the neighborhood dogs for fun, so naturally, it made sense for her to pursue a career in the pet industry.  She has managed multiple pet stores, has a pet nutritionist certification, and is so excited to be starting her new journey as a veterinary assistant, being able to work with pets more intimately.

When she’s not treating your pets with the utmost care, she can be found going on walks or bike rides with her dog Blue and 4 year old son, Jackson, or snuggled up with them eating popcorn and watching movies!

Jessica graduated from Dalhousie University in 2020 before moving back to New Brunswick to start her career in a general practice veterinary hospital caring for small animal and exotic pets. Veterinary medicine has always peaked Jessica’s interest with its endless opportunities and being the voice for those companion animals who can’t speak or fend for themselves.

Jessica has recently moved to Halifax with her 2 ginger cats, Nala and Reggie.  Jessica has a special interest in behaviour and emergency medicine.  She has completed her Level 3 Fear-Free Certification, as well as the RECOVER Basic and Advanced Certification (emergency CPR program).

In her spare time, Jessica enjoys trying new foods/places around the city, being outdoors, and going on adventures with her family and friends.

Rylee has always been a lover of nature and wildlife.  After exploring multiple career paths, she finally took a step in the right direction.  She completed the Veterinary Assistant program at Maritime Business College and is also Fear-Free Certified. Rylee is extremely excited to start her journey in the world of veterinary medicine and work with like-minded people who share the same love and compassion for animals as she does.

Rylee has 2 cats of her own (her boys) who she loves and adores.
